Janome Embroidery Sewing Machines One for Every Budget and Skill Level
Janome has an array of embroidery machines.
At the mid-range of the price spectrum are their 300 and 350E series . These are embroidery-only machines with built in designs.
They are not designed for anything but embroidery.
Both models have on board editing, and will interface with your PC either via a USB port or an ATA-PC card. This means you can download embroidery designs and save them to the card, flash drive or to a folder on your machine.
Why would you buy a sewing machine that doesn’t make a buttonhole? Doesn’t sew a straight stitch and you cannot use for quilting?
Here are two good reasons why you would buy an embroidery-only machine:
You would only use it to embellish ready-made garments and accessories.
You have a good, reliable machine that does not embroider, and you do not want to replace it.
Here are the specs on the Janome 350 E:
Maximum Embroidery Size: 140x200mm
Two hoops with 2 more optional
Built-in Designs: 100
Built-in Fonts: 3
USB and ATA Pc Card

Create Folders Containing 100 Designs

Let’s talk about the combination embroidery sewing machines. Remember if you can sew and embroider on it, you can quilt on it.
I am leading up to the whiz-bang Janome Embroidery sewing machine. If you cannot wait for dessert scroll to the bottom of this page.
But first there are two other options available from Janome. They are the MC 9500 and the MC 9700.
Both of these machines are powerful, high-speed sewing machines that make gorgeous buttonholes, and monograms, but also have wonderful embroidery options. These are older sewing machines, but they are still available.
These two machines are nearly identical. The big difference is that the 9700 has a color screen.
And this does make editing your designs easier. Both machines interface with your PC via a PC card. You can download embroidery designs and edit them on your computer and then save them to the card or even the machine.
Both sewing machines have built in fonts for monogramming, and writing. They are fast and powerful and will make a large design.
You can combine designs, move the placement within the hoop with the touch of the screen and you can trace the design so you can see how much space it needs, and you will not end up sewing over a previously embroidered design.
There is no big embroidery module attachment. Once you press the icon for embroidery, the feed dogs drop, and the embroidery unit rolls into place.
Simply attach your hooped fabric, choose your design, push start and go!
If the thread breaks, you can go back ten stitches and start where the break occurred. And the machine tells you it’s time to change thread colors, stops and waits for you to change thread colors.
And the sewing machines all come with instructional DVDs. I was able to teach myself to embroider on this machine without the luxury of a nearby dealer.
Sewing Insider Tip: Learn to use the automatic needle threader. It will make your life easier. And cut down on the colorful swearing.
The Janome MC 11000 Embroidery Sewing Machine: I Would Not Be Disappointed to Find it In My Christmas Stocking!
The Whiz-Bang top of the line Janome MC11000 Special Edition Embroidery sewing machine!
Are you ready for a machine that truly does everything but make coffee?
Before I list all the features, remember that this machine is the one that:
Sews
Makes buttonholes
Does gorgeous embroidery
Has beautiful quilting stitches built in that look like hand sewing
Here are the words from the Janome website:
“…It's the three-in-one machine you've been dreaming of. You'll find precise sewing, gorgeous embroidery and a host of new features to take quilting to a new level…”
Let’s dive in!
The Janome MC11000 Special Edition embroidery sewing machine has a full color screen that is adjustable.
You can raise it or lower it to suit your eye height or to avoid glare. They call it the i height screen.
The sewing machine has tutorial movies built in that you can watch on the sewing machine screen.
With a push of a button your tutorial is there. You don’t have to leave your project and boot up the computer to get help! Nor do you have to hunt for your sewing machine manual.
Using robotic (yes robots) technology, the Janome embroidery machine can embroider (and quilt) large designs without needing a long bed.
This means you need less space for the machine. And there is no external embroidery module required. There is an optional sewing bed extender for large projects.
The Janome Embroidery sewing machine is the only one on the market that does not need a separate, bulky embroidery module.
Six Brands of Thread and Their Color Codes are Pre-Programmed
Six thread brands and their color numbers are also programmed into the machine so that you can accurately see any changes in color you make to a particular design.
The Janome Embroidery machine is self threading, and has a separate motor for winding bobbins. No unthreading the machine to wind a new bobbin.
And what about the designs themselves?
Well there are 170 embroidery designs built-in to your machine. And of course you can go crazy and download embroidery designs from all over the internet.
You can store them on your PC and then bring them into the sewing machine for stitching.
The Janome embroidery machine can talk to your PC via an ATA PC card, flash drive a USB cable
Here are a few of the built-in goodies:
Don’t speak English? There are 10 languages built-in
Ten embroidery fonts with European letters
Six embroidery hoops
13 buttonholes
32 monograms
358 built-in decorative stitches
Favorite stitch memory
Programmable jump thread trimming
Automatic return after thread breaking
Automatic bobbin thread cutting
And I am not even listing the quilting functions…that is for another page.
Even while you are embroidering, you can adjust the hoop position, and speed.
And when it is complete, the hoop moves to a convenient position so you can remove your work without a struggle.
The Janome MC11000 is a powerful computer that sews! And you will love using this meachine.
It may just be the last sewing machine you'll ever buy!
